The last 7 days have flown by thanks to full schedules and tropical weather that seems to make everything more vivid and intense..
Wednesday I had dinner with Stephanie and Rebecca in Roosendaal. The initial plan was to pick up Steph and drive to Roosendaal with the Jeep, but the Wrangler is currently hiding under a cover until its appointment at the RDW mid-July. Helaas…no joy riding in the Jeep but we did have a lovely dinner on the patio at Mazzeltov. 
Thursday was my last ‘bila’ (bilateral meeting) with Saskia, and Friday Chris headed north to the TT in Assen with Jakob, and I was off to Arnhem for our annual work weekend get away (lelpot voor de kenners). Opa Jan manned the fort at home so Isa, Alex, and Gia had some quality time with him while Chris and I were out on our adventures. Saskia gave a very sweet speech for me after dinner at the Taphuys with the help of colleagues holding props. It was a nice surprise (and normally those words don’t go together in my vocabulary)!
Monday my Semester 1 team and I had a Lumina team building session. It was so nice to hear the anecdotes and examples that everyone gave that linked to their qualities. The day concluded with drinks and dinner with our feet in the sand at Baai. It was perfect!
Tuesday I had lunch with Diana and – aside from catching up on our lives in general, I gave her the rundown on why we decided to uproot our family and move to Sardinia.
Today was Alex’s ‘afscheid’ moment at school and his teachers took the time to show all the kids on the map where Sardinia is located and play a little video. Alex told the class he was leaving tomorrow but fortunately we still have some time to pack..
This evening we had dinner at the Asterdhoeve with our dear friends (and neighbors!) and when I cried on the drive home Alex told me not to worry, he would fly Chris, Andi, and Julian over to Sardinia to make me happy again. 
Alex and Isa have their last day of school tomorrow, and I have my farewell party from BUas. That will also be a tough crowd to say goodbye too, the past 9 years have flown by!!
